Diana Krall grew up in a musical family in Nanaimo British Columbia, Canada (16 November 1964). She began learning piano at age four in high school she began playing in a small jazz group at the age of fifteen, she began playing regularly in several Nanaimo restaurants. She also spent some time in Toronto to study with Canadian jazz great Don Thompson (bass / piano) and with the support of the Canada Council, she moved to the U.S. to pursue studies and develop their careers.
Her playing attracted the attention of bassist Ray Brown, who brought her into in contact with influential teachers and producers at the age of seventeen, she won a scholarship from the Vancouver Jazz Festival to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston after three semesters, she moved to Los Aangel to study with Jimmy Rowles, which she also began singing in 1990, Krall moved to New York with her husband, British musician Elvis Costello.

Kak Ungku was 'introduced' to this gorgeous jazz singer, Diana Krall by my FB's friend Roslan Shaari. I love jazz and I love Diana's songs and her voice very much. My favourite songs (jazz & bossa nova versions) among others are Fly Me to the Moon, Cry Me a River, Look of Love, Walk on By and A Case of You.
